EVALUATION OF COST AND FREQUENCY OF PATIENTS WITH CHRONIC DISEASES ADMITTED TO YENIMAHALLE TRAINING AND RESEARCH HEALTH DEPARTMENT

Abstract

The increasing in old population, bring some medical, social and economic problems together. The prevalance of many diseases increase, especially cronic diseases. İn the investigations that made in our country, in the 80 %of the population ≥65 years old have at least one cronic disease. İn the population who were ≥60 years old and applying to Yenimahalle Training-Research Health Department in 1 January-31 December 2001; the aim of the study was; to find the frequency of the cronic diseases, to determine the number of the drugs in cronic disease prescription, to attract attention to polyclinic price of cronic diseases, and the price of cronic diseases treatment in registration. İn Yenimahalle Training-Research Health Department in the population who were ≥60 years old, 51.2% were have one cronic disease, 5.1% were have two cronic hastalık; Hipertension was the more frerquent disease and was 25.6%, Hipertension and Diabetes Mellitus was the more frequent combination and was 28.6%. İn the applying of cronic diseases the treatment with one drug was 30.9%, with two drug 38.4%, with three drug 23.6%. Throught one year, the policlinic examination costs were 4568.08 Dolar; in each cronic disease prescription, with the 1X1 dose in every day in the minimum prescription price in one year was 187694,80 Dolar. In conclusion, in the population who were ≥60 years old in Yenimahalle Training-Research Health Department region, the cronic diseases are very frequent and the costs of the treatment of cronic diseases are very high. Because of this, new political health policy that provide protecting health care must consider.
