Abstract
Recent studies have revealed that streptococci play an important role in the etiology of Behcet's disease. As it is known, rheumatic valvular heart disease results from carditis occuring after group A streptococcal infections. Two cases having acute rheumatic fever and related rheumatic valvular heart disease were diagnosed also to have Behcet's disease. We conclude, from the etiological similarities, that streptococcal infections may have caused rheumatic valvular heart disease and Behcet's disease.
