Abstract

Malign melanomas constitute 1-2% of all cancers. Primer tumor most commonly found on the head, neck, lower extremities, trunk, under fingernails and mucous membranes. Melanomas arising in the head and neck need special attention because of their anatomic location and biological features. Although the primer and metasta tic malignant melanomas of parotid gland are relatively rare, their prognosis is extremely poor. Malignant melanomas have special consideration in the evaluation of the head and neck masses associated with parotid gland metastasis. We herein reported a patient with malign melanoma metastatic to parotid gland and distant organs in the light of the literature.
